Rockfoil Rose Robe Saxifraga Arendsii is an evergreen perennial plant that belongs to a group of over forty cultivars known as the Arendsii Hybrids which were developed and introduced by Arends Nursery in Germany. Rockfoil Rose Robe seeds should be just scattered over the surface and pressed very lightly into the soil, because they need light to germinate. Also known as Mossy Saxifrage and Arend's Saxifrage, this selection of Saxifraga Arendsii is an attractive, quickly-spreading, mat-forming, evergreen perennial plant with densely packed, mossy bright-green leaves and short, ankle-high, strong flower stems that are topped by very showy, cup-shaped, rose-pink flowers.
Rockfoil Rose Robe is excellent as an alpine plant for rock and alpine gardens, and Mossy Saxifrage is also popular as a ground cover, container, green roof, wall, border, path edging, and accent plant. Saxifraga Arendsii seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors, and established Rockfoil Rose Robe grows best in a cool location in partial sun to partial shade and rich or average, gritty, moist, but well-drained soil, disliking drought and hot, humid summer weather.
