Pasque Flower Red Pulsatilla Vulgaris Rubra is a perennial that is closely related to Anemone. Pasque Flower is a spring-blooming favorite and perfect addition to spring bulbs like tulips and daffodils along with other early bloomers. Pulsatilla Vulgaris Rubra produces single, bell-shaped, dark-red flowers with feathery seed heads over soft lacy fern-like foliage. The silky seed heads move in the smallest breeze, giving this plant the name Pulsatilla and Wind Flower or Wind Anemone.
The established Pulsatilla Vulgaris will have at least 30 blossoms over a period of two months. Red Pasque Flower likes to grow in clumps in rich woodland conditions, and makes a great flower for sunny rock gardens or the front of a border show in perennial gardens. Pasque Flower is good for cutting, and being a low maintenance plant, it is great for beginner gardeners and for low-care gardens.
