Primrose Evening Oenothera Lamarckiana is a herbaceous annual that has naturalized throughout the United States. Primrose Evening seeds can be started directly outdoors in spring or fall, and Oenothera Lamarckiana produces richly scented, two inches across, light yellow flowers that open in the late afternoon and remain open through the evening. Evening Primrose starts to bloom in late spring and blooms continuously throughout the summer, attracting bees, moths, and butterflies. 

Primrose Evening makes a good meadow or ornamental garden plant, and it also look great along roadsides and fence lines. Oenothera Lamarckiana seeds germinate quickly, and Evening Primrose grows rapidly, blooms heavily, and re-seeds easily if seed falls on bare ground. Evening Primrose grows best in a sunny location, and dry or moist, but well-drained soils.
