Firecracker Vine Ipomoea Lobata is a tender perennial vine native to Central and South America, and is a member of the Morning Glory family. The other common names of this plant are Fire Vine, Spanish Flag Vine, and Exotic Love Vine. The previous botanical name of this plant is Mina Lobata, and Firecracker Vine seeds is recommended to be soaked overnight in water or nicked with a knife to break the outer coat prior sowing the seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost or directly outdoors in spring after last frost. Ipomoea Lobata grows fast providing a good coverage and blooming in summer and fall with masses of dazzling reddish-orange, fading to orange, yellow, and white flowers 1-2 inch tubular flowers that attract bees, butterflies and hummingbirds.

Firecracker Vine is is one of the most popular climbing vines, and this plant is extensively grown on trellis, posts, fences, arbors, in hanging baskets, large containers and pots.
