Prunella Self Heal Common Prunella Vulgaris is a perennial herb native to Europe, but this wildflower has been naturalized throughout Asia, Japan and the United States of America. Prunella Self Heal Common seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors in spring, and also commonly called Selfheal, Heal All, Healall, and Heart-of-the-Earth, Prunella Vulgaris is a compact growing plant with creeping, self-rooting, sturdy, branching reddish stems and lance shaped, serrated and reddish at tip leaves. Common Self Heal blooms with two lipped, lobbed, tubular blue-purple flowers that protrude from club-like, somewhat square, whirled clusters. Blooming all summer and into fall Prunella Vulgaris attracts butterflies, bees, and other pollinators.

Prunella Self Heal Common is often grown as a ground cover, in mass plantings, in border fronts, meadows and naturalized landscapes. Prunella Vulgaris seeds are easy to germinate, and established Self Heal grows best in full sun or partial shade and in most soils even those slightly acidic, but this plant does best on more fertile condition. Heal All herb is both edible and medicinal. The leaves and flowers contain high levels of antioxidants, and they can be used in salads, soups, stews, or boiled as a pot herb. Heal All was once used to cure a wide variety of health ailments.
