Rocky Mountain Beeplant Cleome Serrulata is a herbaceous annual native to North America. Rocky Mountain Beeplant seeds can be started indoors or directly outdoors in spring after last frost of fall. Also called Bee Spider Flower and Skunk Weed this North American wild version of the garden Cleome grows quickly, featuring attractive foliage with narrow, blade-shaped leaves and producing striking, fragrant clusters of pink or reddish-purple flowers. Bee Spider Flower blooms heavily in summer, providing a good nectar source for bees, butterflies and hummingbirds, and its seeds are important food for small birds.

Rocky Mountain Beeplant is a great annual flower for mass planting, meadows, or back borders. If the Cleome Serrulata seeds are started indoors or directly outdoors in spring, the moist cold stratification for 30 days in a refrigerator is recommended prior sowing. Rocky Mountain Beeplant grows best in full sun and average, sandy, dry or moist, but well-drained soil, tolerating drought and re-seeding easily. Bee Spider Flower makes a stunning cut flower.
