Delphinium Astolat Delphinium Cultorum is an old-fashioned favorite garden perennial that belongs to Pacific Giant Hybrids series. Delphinium Astolat seeds can be started indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost, and this Delphinium grows up to 6 feet tall, featuring foliage with palmate, deeply lobed, dark-green leaves and producing gorgeous spikes of large, pink flowers with a white center. The stakes have to be used when planting Delphinium to avoid broken stems, and when Delphinium flowers begin to fade, it is recommended to cut back the stalks and fertilize immediately.
Delphinium Astolat makes a wonderful background plant for perennial flower beds, and Delphinium looks terrific in mass plantings, cottage and cutting gardens, and naturalized landscapes. Delphinium Cultorum seeds have to be kept moist until germination, and this perennial flower prefers to grow in full sun and rich, moist, well drained soil. Pacific Giant Delphiniums must be planted in a sheltered area out of the wind, because the wind can knock the plants over. Delphinium Astolat is an outstanding cut flower with a long vase life.
