Clematis Golden is an outstanding climbing plant for screening and trellis, flower beds and borders, and Clematis also makes a superb ground cover for difficult areas with poor soil. Clematis Tangutica Aztek seeds require some cold treatment prior sowing, or the seeds can be started outdoors in a cold frame in the late fall or winter. Clematis grows best in full sun, but the roots have to be kept cool and shaded by mulch or low growing ground cover. Clematis Tangutica is very adaptable and drought tolerant, but the consistent watering with good drainage is needed.
