Catmint Blue Nepeta Mussinii is a perennial flowering herb that belongs to the mint family. Catmint Blue seeds can be planted indoors, and the seedling can be transplanted outdoors after last frost. Blue Catmint features very dense, fragrant, gray-green foliage and produces spikes of fragrant, bright blue flowers. Catmint has a long blooming period, and its fragrant flowers are good source of nectar for butterflies, hummingbirds and bees. Catmint is also attractive to cats, but less than catnip.
Catmint Blue is a popular perennial to grow in rock and herb gardens, borders, and as an edging plant. Catmint looks wonderful in mass planting, containers, and this compact flower can be used as a general ground cover. Nepeta Mussinii seeds germinate fast, and Blue Catmint is extremely drought tolerant plant that thrives in full sun and somewhat dry, well-drained soil, but easily tolerates partial shade. Catmint makes a great fresh cut flower.
