Commonly called Twining Snapdragon and Chickabiddy, Asarina can be easily started from seeds as an evergreen, tender perennial in frost-free USDA zones 9-11 or as an annual in colder climates. Twining Snapdragon has attractive, emerald-green foliage that is covered by masses of large, gloxinia-shaped, snow-white flowers. Asarina begins to bloom in early summer and blooms until frost attracting bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
Twining Snapdragon is a beautiful climbing and trailing plant, excellent ground cover, and this climbing flower can even be grown in containers and handing baskets. Asarina Scandens prefers rich soil with average moisture and grows equally well in full sun or partial shade re-seeding itself when conditions allow.
