Aruncus Noble Spirits Aruncus Aethusifolius is a herbaceous, clump-forming, perennial. Also commonly called Korean Goatsbeard and Dwarf Goat's Beard, this particular selection is a dwarf variety. Aruncus can be grown from seeds, and if the seed is started indoors, cold stratification has to be applied. Dwarf Goat's Beard features lacy, fern-like foliage with deeply-cut, green leaves that turn to orange-red color in fall. Aruncus Noble Spirits blooms with astilbe-like, panicles of fragrant, creamy-white flowers from late spring to early summer.
Korean Goatsbeard is a superb plant to grow in partly shaded areas of rock gardens, woodland gardens, and border fronts. Aruncus makes a nice ground cover or edging plant for shade. Aruncus Aethusifolius grows best in partial shade and moist, fertile, rich soil; however, Aruncus can tolerate full sun if soil is not allowed to dry.
