Arenaria Mountain Sandwort Arenaria Montana is a low-growing perennial native to mountainous regions of southwestern Europe. Mountain Sandwort can be established from seeds, and this Arenaria produces masses of blush white flowers over gorgeous, crush-resistant, blue-green foliage that tolerates light foot traffic. Arenaria blooms from mid-spring to early summer, and its mounds of pure-white flowers look fantastic.
Mountain Sandwort makes a perfect ground cover or trailing plant for borders, rock and alpine gardens, edging, planting between flagstones, and container planting. Arenaria Montana prefers dry, well drained, sandy to sandy loam soils, and once established Arenaria is drought tolerant because of its shallow root system.
